Here is a list of coconut oil’s remarkable benefits:

1. Reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and related illnesses, cancer, and other
degenerative conditions
2. Helps to prevent bacterial, viral, and fungal (yeast) infections by supporting good immune function
3. Gives protection against osteoporosis
4. Helps to control diabetes
5. Promotes weight loss
6. Supports healthy metabolic function
7. Boosts energy
8. Improves digestion and nutrient absorption
9. Keeps your skin soft and prevents wrinkles and blemishes when used topically
10. Conditions dry hair
11.  Can be used as a safe vaginal lubricant
12. Has heat-resistant properties, so it is useful for sautéing

There is a caveat. The marvelous properties of coconut oil are available ONLY in the virgin and organic state. If it is processed, all bets are off. Once it is refined, it becomes just as bad as a trans fat, contributing to increased blood cholesterol, blood clot formation, heart disease, and weight problems. But, in the pure form, coconut oil is one of nature’s most amazing health handouts — inside and outside the body.
