  • 1 pound split peas, rinsed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and mashed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 cups chicken stock
  • Sea salt and pepper
  1. Put all ingredients except the salt and pepper into a crock-pot. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 8-10 hours, or until the peas are very soft. Season to taste.
